Adam Bernstein (born May 7, 1960) is an American film, television, and music video director best known for his extensive work across scripted television and music videos. Bernstein started his career as an animator and producer at the Nickelodeon Network before moving into music videos. Bernstein has directed over 70 videos, including iconic videos like “Love Shack” for the B‑52’s, “Hey Ladies” for the Beastie Boys, and “Baby’s

Got Back” for Sir Mix‑a‑Lot.After moving into episodic television, Bernstein directed the pilots for Strangers with Candy, Scrubs, 30 Rock, Fargo as well as episodes of acclaimed shows including OZ, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Californication, The Sinner, Fosse/Verdon, Silo, and Pluribus. Adam Bernstein has received a Primetime Emmy Award in 2007 for Outstanding Comedy Series as Supervising Producer on 30 Rock, and received a Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or TV Film for Fargo. In the music world, he earned an MTV Video Music Award for Best Group Video for directing the B‑52’s iconic “Love Shack”. He was awarded the Good Citizenship Medal by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1973.

Bernstein has taught directing at the Columbia University School of the Arts, Film Program, Williams College and Rome’s Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
